Why we started

Most writing about this category is a rewritten press release with a signup link attached. The numbers quoted are the numbers the operator supplied, the payout times are estimates copied from a help page, and nobody involved has ever filed a redemption. We found that irritating enough to do something about it.

What we actually do

We open accounts, fund them, play the promotional balance down, file a redemption and time it. Three times per brand, on three separate weeks. Then we write down what happened, including the parts that make a brand look bad, and rank the list by the results rather than by the size of the welcome package.

How we pay for it

Affiliate commissions, disclosed on every page that carries them. The rate is agreed before testing begins and cannot be changed once a score is published. Several brands in our list pay us nothing at all and sit exactly where the testing put them. If a commercial relationship ever required us to move a score, we would end the relationship instead.

What we are not

We are not a casino, we do not take bets, we do not hold funds and we cannot help with a support dispute at a brand. We are also not lawyers, and nothing here is legal advice about your state. For anything involving your account, the operator support desk is the only useful destination.

Corrections

If a number on this site is wrong, tell us and we will check it and fix it. Corrections are made in place and the review notes what changed. We would rather be corrected than quoted inaccurately.
